Valentine’s Day Is For Everyone!

written by: Kari

Valentines Day is most commonly associated with lovers celebrating their relationship; however, the day is about much more than that. It is a day that we can step back and celebrate love in general, no matter what age we are or whether or not we have a partner to celebrate it with. Love is not limited to romantic relationships, it can be celebrated with your friends, your family, and even someone you have a crush on. Following are some ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day no matter who you are.

Kids and Valentine’s Day
It has long been a tradition for kids to bring valentine cards to school and exchange them. This is a great way to teach kids that everyone in their class deserves love. However, it can be extended outside of school as well. Kids can make valentines for their parents, siblings, and grandparents.

In addition, kids can have a great time at a Valentine’s Day party, even if you just make it for your family and friends. The decor, food, and games can all be themed towards love and kindness.

Teenagers and Valentine’s Day
This is a great day for teenagers to express their interest in a crush. There is a lot of worry and fear regarding rejection throughout the year, and since Valentine’s Day is already associated with handing out cards and candy, it can be easy to give a crush a signal of affection without worrying too much about rejection.

Relationships And Valentine’s Day
Of course, if you are in a relationship, then this is the day that you can really celebrate your love and what you mean to each other. Make sure that you take the time to celebrate this day, not because it is the only day that you can celebrate your love, but because you are uniting with a big part of the world on this day for the same cause, and that loving energy can help to make the world a happier more loving place.

Whether you go out to dinner or stay in, make sure that you avoid every day distractions like the television or Internet. Take this day to be together and nurture your relationship.

Young Parents And Valentine’s Day
If your children are young, then you may want to celebrate this day as a family. Celebrate the day by doing activities together. For instance, you can go out for supper or make supper together. You can play games or tell stories or talk about your good memories regarding your family in the past year. This day is a great day to strengthen the bonds of love that you already have.

Single Parents And Valentine’s Day
This is a day to celebrate your kids and the love that they give you every day of your life. Take the time to tell them how much you love them and how important they are to you. The thoughtfulness on your part will mean the world to your kids, and they will feel amazing because they have such a loving and devoted parent.

Older Couples And Valentine’s Day
Do not stop celebrating your love, no matter how long you have been together. Love is one of the most important things to celebrate in this life.

Do something that you don’t normally do together. Go out and rent a hotel room with a romance package included. Go to a show that you have to dress up for. Take the time to remember all the good memories you have shared together and forget about the bad. Make this day something special, because you deserve it!

In the end, Valentine’s Day is not just about lovers. It is about love, kindness, and compassion. You can even celebrate Valentine’s Day by consciously being more loving towards strangers through your words and actions. Use this day to remind yourself that love is what makes this world go around.
